William Barrowcliffe and his two sons, Tony
and Glen, were the founders of the company. |
| 1981 |
A family partnership is formed. Under the drive and direction
from Tony they began supply to the catering trade and small
retailers with mainly whole vegetables. |
| 1990 |
Lee Miller joins as Operations Manager. With Tony driving
the sales and Lee and Glen handling the operations the business
expands into the prepared vegetable market for food manufacturers
and also the developing catering market. |
| 1995 |
William Barrowcliffe retires. |
| 2000 |
Lee Miller becomes MD. Tony Archer joins the Company as
Operations Director. |
| 2003 |
The Barrowcliffe family give Lee the opportunity
to acquire the business, he agrees to do so with the existing
Operations Director Tony Archer. Tony and Glen Barrowcliffe
leave the company to pursue other business interests. |
| 2004 |
Management buyout completed with the assistance
of Nick Sutherland, new Chairman and Commercial Director and Roy
Irish, Financial Director. |
| 2008 |
The Barrowcliffe Catering Division is sold and renamed Millside Barrowcliffe. It now trades as an independent company. |
